Director Milind Kavade slams Omkar Bhojane for skipping promotions, wont cast him again

The upcoming Marathi film Afratafari is set to release in theatres soon, and the team is currently busy with promotions. But reports have emerged that some cast members are not joining the promotional activities. Director Milind Kavade has now expressed anger at actor Omkar Bhojane over this.

Kavade said Omkar was informed back in June that the film would release in October. Attempts were made to contact him for promotions after that, but there was no response. According to Kavade, "Omkar is so busy that he does not take anyone's calls. None of the three of us could get through to him on the phone. All we get is one message: 'Dada, I will call you back.' This has been going on for the last four months."

Kavade also said that when there was no response from Omkar, the producers eventually messaged him to express their displeasure as well. He said producers invest a lot of money in a film, so actors should at least cooperate with promotions. To make this point, Kavade cited the example of actor Mohan Agashe, saying that despite being in Hyderabad, Agashe kept promoting the film by sending selfie videos from there, and later was also present in person for promotions.

Following this episode, Milind Kavade made clear that he will not cast Omkar Bhojane in his next film at all. He said, "I have learnt my lesson now. I will not take Omkar in my next film at all. I have worked with him a lot so far, but in this entire matter he has been very unprofessional. Not taking the director's calls, not taking the producers' calls, dodging the EP and constantly saying 'I'm coming, I'm coming'... that is what you call unprofessional."

However, while praising Omkar Bhojane's acting, Milind Kavade said, "As an artist he is very good, he does good work. But as a person, sorry! Very unprofessional... he is an expert liar."

There has been no response so far from Omkar Bhojane to these allegations. His side of the story on Kavade's claims will be important. The film Afratafari is set to release soon and its promotion is currently in full swing.
