A dialysis centre has started operating at the sub-district hospital in Mul. It was inaugurated by District Civil Surgeon Dr Bandu Ramteke under the Maharashtra government's "Seva Sankalp Abhiyan". With this centre opening, kidney patients from Mul and surrounding areas will no longer have to travel far for dialysis, as the facility will now be available in their own area.

After the inauguration, the first dialysis at the centre was performed on a patient named Nandlal Meshram, a resident of Sindewahi. The dialysis was carried out under the supervision of specialist doctors present there.

Additional District Civil Surgeon Dr Bhaskar Sonarkar was prominently present at the inauguration programme. Also attending were Dr Praveen Pant, physician at Pant Hospital, Dr Prasad Potduke, physician at Potduke Hospital, and Dr Abhishek Dixit, kidney disease specialist at the District General Hospital. Prof Mahesh Panse, along with officials and staff of the health department and local residents, were also present on the occasion.

District Civil Surgeon Dr Bandu Ramteke said dialysis centres had earlier been started at the District General Hospital, Chandrapur, and the Rural Hospital, Brahmapuri. The centre now started at the sub-district hospital, Mul, is the district's third dialysis centre. He said this would allow patients from Mul and nearby areas to access dialysis facilities closer to home, while also reducing the load of patients on the dialysis centre at the District General Hospital, Chandrapur.

Dr Ramteke said the centre was important because kidney patients would no longer need to undertake long, repeated journeys for dialysis and would be able to get this essential healthcare service in their own area. He said the centre had begun operating to serve the public and appealed to needy patients in the area to make use of the facility.
