DHL Express, the international express services company, has announced an increase in its rates in India. The new rates will come into effect on January 1, 2027, and the increase in India will be 8.9 per cent.

R. S. Subramanian, Senior Vice President, South Asia, DHL Express, said: "International trade is creating new opportunities for business, and at the same time supply chains are becoming rapidly more interconnected and more complex. We are committed to helping our customers move ahead in changing conditions. With this aim, we are investing in our global network, digital capabilities, security infrastructure and sustainable logistics solutions. This annual price change helps us maintain the excellent service quality and trust that customers expect. It also strengthens our global operations' ability to adapt to further changes."

Every year, the company adjusts its rates after looking at inflationary pressure, currency fluctuations and changes in industry costs. DHL Express operates in more than 220 countries and territories and is connected across the world. It is therefore affected not only by local economic conditions but also by shifts in the global market.

Besides inflation, the company's cost structure is also being affected by energy costs, compliance requirements, and administrative costs linked to changing customs, regulatory and security measures imposed by national and international authorities. Persistent pressure in the labour markets of many countries has also contributed to higher operational costs.

To support customers' growth and maintain a world-class international network, DHL Express continues to invest heavily in its global infrastructure, fleet modernisation programme, digital capabilities and operational resilience. Recent achievements include completing delivery of its fleet of 28 Boeing 777 freighters, the introduction of more fuel-efficient aircraft, and the expansion and upgrade of infrastructure across all regions.

The company is also continuing to invest in security. In 2026, it crossed the mark of more than 500 TAPA-certified facilities worldwide. Continued investment in advanced security technology, infrastructure and operational processes strengthens its position as the world's most TAPA-certified logistics provider.

DHL Express is also securing its technology and IT infrastructure to improve cyber security, system resilience, shipment visibility and operational efficiency. Investment in digital customer solutions, including AI-enabled capabilities and the continuing rollout of the MyDHL platform, is helping make cross-border shipping easier for customers and improve their shipping experience.

Sustainability has been a key priority for DHL Express. The company will continue to invest in fuel-efficient aircraft, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), electric vehicles, carbon-neutral facilities and other initiatives. These are designed to reduce emissions from its operations and also help customers achieve their sustainability goals.
