Chinmayee More to play Radhika in Zee Marathi's new show Dhakatya Sunbai

Zee Marathi's new serial "Dhakatya Sunbai" begins on September 28. Built around warmth, humanity and emotional bonds within a family, the show stars actress Chinmayee More in the lead role of Radhika. Chinmayee says Radhika is a gentle, loving character who stands firmly by her family through their joys and sorrows, and she believes the character will carve out a special place in viewers' hearts.

Chinmayee, who is from Nagpur, has been associated with acting since childhood. With "Dhakatya Sunbai", she is playing a lead role in a daily soap for the first time. She spoke at length about this new journey and about the character of Radhika.

Chinmayee says her mother was in theatre, which connected her to the field from a young age. She first appeared before the camera when she was just 10 days old and later worked as a child artist. She went on to work in professional plays, state drama competitions, films, short films and advertisements, but a daily soap is a first for her. She says her original dream was to become a pilot, but that could not happen due to certain family reasons, and this journey into acting was meant to be.

Chinmayee describes Radhika as gentle, loving and warm, someone who genuinely cares for everyone around her. Even amid sorrow or difficulties, Radhika tries to find happiness and stay positive, and never leaves her family's side, however hard the circumstances get.

Chinmayee was selected for the role through an audition. Amit Phatak, who played Gajanan Maharaj, suggested her name to the production, after which she got a call for an audition based on her photos, and was selected following the audition. On preparing for the role, she says that before every scene she puts herself in Radhika's place and tries to understand what Radhika would think and feel at that moment.

The show's promo has received a very good response from viewers, and Chinmayee says she has received more love than she expected. She is curious to see how viewers accept the pairing of Radhika and Vedant. Speaking about her co-stars and the team, she says director Chandrakant Kanse guides and looks after her with affection, and that her tuning with co-star Mandar Jadhav has been excellent, with the two becoming good friends off screen as well.

Giving a message to viewers, Chinmayee says "Dhakatya Sunbai" should be given as much love, or more, as Zee Marathi's other serials. The show premieres on Zee Marathi on September 28.
