Chhaya Kadam says her voice as 'Jathai' in Bhutam Bhayam could have had more work
Chhaya Kadam says she could have experimented more with the voice and backstory of her character Jathai in Bhutam Bhayam
Actress Chhaya Kadam, known for her varied roles, appeared in a different kind of character this time in the horror-comedy film "Bhutam Bhayam". In the film she played a character named "Jathai". Kadam shared some special thoughts about her experience with this character and about working with the Orange Juice Gang.
Actors including Karan Sonawane, Neel Salekar, Saurabh Ghadge, Shubham Jadhav, Siddhant Sarfare, Manmeet Pem and Pushkaraj Chirputkar also appeared alongside Kadam in "Bhutam Bhayam". She said the atmosphere on set while working with all of them was full of enthusiasm.
She said working with the Orange Juice Gang gave her a different kind of energy altogether. All these actors are very enthusiastic, and working with them created a distinct atmosphere on set. According to Kadam, even though the time spent working with them was not very long, matching their energy was a lot of fun. She also said everyone was different in their own way, and together they gave the film a distinct flavour.
"Bhutam Bhayam" features shades of horror, comedy, friendship and folk tales. Against this backdrop, Kadam also spoke about whether she felt anything unexpected within herself as an actor while playing the character of "Jathai".
She said candidly that while making this film, she felt several times that more could still have been done with it. According to her, "Jathai" was a very different character for her. She feels she could have experimented a little more, especially with the voice.
Kadam said a few more things could have been done with the voice of "Jathai". Similarly, she feels more effort could have been put into the character's backstory as well. She felt these things even more strongly after watching the film.
For this reason, Kadam says "Jathai" is a character that could still have been explored a little more deeply, with a few more aspects探索able.
"Bhutam Bhayam", directed by Ramchandra Arun Gawkar, offers a unique blend of horror and comedy. Chhaya Kadam, Pushkaraj Chirputkar and other actors play key roles alongside the Orange Juice Gang cast. After releasing in cinemas on 24 July 2026, the film has now begun its OTT run. It can be watched on ZEE5 from 25 September 2026.
