Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Man rams friend's moped with car, beats him to death in broad daylight

A man was brutally murdered by his childhood friend in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar on Thursday (October 22) morning. The incident took place around 10.30 am between Bajrang Chowk and Baliram Patil Chowk. The attack on a busy road has caused a stir across the city.

The deceased is Devesh alias Bunty Chandresh Dixit, 37, a resident of the N-7 area. The accused has been named as Pawan Dilip Parashar, who also lives in N-7. After the attack, Pawan went to CIDCO police station himself and surrendered.

According to the information available, Bunty Dixit ran a mess in the CIDCO N-7 area. He was also active in other businesses and in social work. Pawan was his childhood friend and the two had studied in the same school. Both supplied security guards, or bouncers, to local hotels and bars.

After some time, quarrels broke out between the two over dominance and work in the bouncer supply business. The dispute grew gradually and they began quarrelling constantly. It is said that Pawan took the step out of anger over dominance in the business and an insult that took place a few months ago.

On Thursday morning, Bunty had gone to the gym as usual. Around 10.30 am he set out for home on his moped. Pawan was following him in a car. As Bunty turned from Bajrang Chowk towards Baliram Patil Chowk, Pawan sped up and rammed the moped hard from behind on the main road in front of Mangesh Gas Agency.

The impact was so severe that Bunty was thrown into the air and landed in the middle of the road. His two-wheeler landed about 200 feet away.

Bunty had been seriously injured by the collision. Pawan then struck him on the head and face with a wooden stick. He left Bunty lying covered in blood and fled in his car. The attack on the main road in broad daylight spread intense fear in the area.

Pawan then drove straight to CIDCO police station and surrendered. CIDCO police are now investigating closely whether there is any other bigger reason or an older dispute behind the murder.
