Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Sanitation worker repeatedly raped, threatened over daughter

A serious case has come to light from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where a sanitation worker has filed a complaint of being repeatedly raped. According to the complaint, the accused kept her under pressure by threatening to harm her daughter and torment her. Whenever the woman tried to resist, the accused threatened to make her obscene videos go viral on Instagram and defame her. A case has been registered at the MIDC Waluj police station against 33 year old Vijay Prahlad Bhalerao, a resident of Nutan Vasahat near Ambad Chowfuli in Jalna district.

According to police, the 30 year old sanitation worker, who lives in the Chhavani police station area, had come to know Vijay Bhalerao. After the acquaintance, the accused began following the woman and repeatedly contacting her to pressure her, the complaint states. Some time later, the accused began visiting not only the woman's house in the Chhavani area but also the Chinchban Colony area of Bajajnagar, where he continued to threaten her, the complaint says.

According to the complaint, when the woman refused to have a physical relationship with the accused, he began pressuring her. When she stood firm in her refusal, the accused allegedly threatened to harm her daughter and torment her. The woman, frightened by the threat to her daughter's safety, was pressured into submission, and the accused repeatedly raped her, the complaint states.

The complaint also states that if the woman resisted, the accused would threaten to post her obscene videos on Instagram to defame her. This increased the pressure on her further. The woman was left deeply distressed by the threats to her daughter and the fear of defamation.

Finally, unable to bear the ordeal any longer, the woman went to the MIDC Waluj police station, informed police of the entire incident and filed a complaint against the accused. Taking cognizance of her complaint, police have registered a case against Vijay Bhalerao.

Following registration of the case, police have begun an investigation. The allegations made in the complaint are being examined, and information and evidence related to the incident are being gathered. The threats made by the accused to the woman, the allegation that he followed her, and the alleged videos are also under investigation. Further legal action will be taken based on the evidence gathered in the case. The MIDC Waluj police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
