Chandrapur district will hold a major cleanliness drive on October 1, 2026. The campaign has been named "Ek Divas, Ek Tas, Ek Sath" (One Day, One Hour, Together), and is being organised under the "Swachhata Hi Seva" campaign, with preparations to implement it across the entire district simultaneously.

The aim behind the campaign is to raise awareness about cleanliness among people through voluntary labour. Emphasis will be placed on increasing participation to make villages clean, beautiful and healthy. At the gram panchayat level, the drive will be carried out at public spaces, school premises, roads and intersections.

In addition, collective voluntary labour and cleanliness drives will also be carried out around village water sources and, where needed, other locations. Alongside this, people will be made aware of segregating waste properly, keeping their surroundings clean and adopting cleanliness habits.

The administration has said that cleanliness should not remain a one-day campaign but should become the daily responsibility of every village and every citizen. If everyone contributes at least one hour to cleanliness on October 1, it will become possible to build clean and healthy villages more effectively through everyone's participation.

Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Pulkit Singh has appealed to people to come forward and join the campaign and to take the message of cleanliness door to door. He said his appeal is for officials and staff, gram panchayat office-bearers, school and college students, women's self-help groups, youth, voluntary organisations and ordinary citizens to participate in large numbers in this campaign.

Chandrapur is a district, and the campaign is being run by the Zilla Parishad through gram panchayats across the district. The administration is trying to ensure that the campaign is not limited to government efforts alone but takes the shape of a people's movement through public participation.
