The Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Chandrapur took major action in a sex trade case on Thursday, October 1, 2026. The activity was being run from a residential house behind Love India Church in Ashtabhuja ward. Police raided the house and arrested two women brokers. Two women victims were rescued safely.

The action was taken on a tip-off under the leadership of Police Inspector Amol Kachore. A case has been registered at Ramnagar police station and further investigation is on.

The LCB received the tip-off on the same day, October 1, 2026, that women were being forced into prostitution in a house in Ashtabhuja ward. Acting on this, a police team led by Police Inspector Amol Kachore, the special police officer under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, moved immediately.

To confirm the information, police first sent a decoy customer and quietly verified it. Once the matter proved true, a team of women constables, social workers and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit raided the spot without warning.

The two women named during the action are Muskan Shafique Sheikh (40, resident of Royanagar, near Love India Church, Ashtabhuja ward, Chandrapur; originally from Usgaon, Ghugus tehsil) and Reshma alias Taibul Fatima Abdul Rafique Sheikh (45, resident of Tower Tekdi, Junona Chowk, Ashtabhuja ward, Chandrapur). The investigation found that the two accused women were colluding to run the flesh trade with the women victims.

Police seized mobile phones, cash and other objectionable material from the spot. The total value of the seized items was put at Rs 22,240.

A case has been registered against the accused at Ramnagar police station under Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Both women brokers have been arrested. The two victims have been rescued, and Ramnagar police are continuing the investigation.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Chandrapur Superintendent of Police Ayush Nopani and Additional Superintendent of Police Ishwar Katkade. Led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer Pramod Chaugule and LCB Police Inspector Amol Kachore, the team included Sub-Inspectors Santosh Nimbhorkar and Sunil Gaurkar, and police constables Kishor Vairagade, Praful Gharghate, Shashank Badamwar, Pradip Madavi and Rushabh Bharsinge. Women constables Chhaya Nikode, Nirasha Titare, Vijayamala Waghmare, Aparna Mankar, Usha Lendange, Geeta Umre, Deepika Sodankar and Seema Nishad, along with social workers Sarita Malu, Maya Meshram, Rupali Tondare and Vidya Chitade, also helped complete the operation successfully.
