Chandrapur: Jayanti-2 cast says youth should watch this film
At a meet-the-press event in Chandrapur, the cast of Jayanti-2 said the film carries a social message on reservation issues.
A meet-the-press event was held in Chandrapur on Friday for the film Jayanti-2, where the cast spoke to journalists about the film. Actors Shubham, Prasannajeet and Avinash Lengure were present at the event. The three explained in detail that the film was not made purely for entertainment but carries a social message and is an attempt at social awareness.
The cast said clearly that Jayanti-2 is not a film limited to any one particular community but makes every section of society think. They said the film speaks directly and openly about sensitive issues such as social, political and economic reservation, subjects that are not usually shown so candidly in films.
The film is currently running across Maharashtra and is showing in four cinemas in Chandrapur, which is why the team specially came to Chandrapur. The cast said the purpose of the meeting was to increase sensitivity among young people and society toward these issues and to encourage open discussion so that people could engage with these subjects positively among themselves.
The team also said the film is directly linked to Chandrapur's land and history. Two local actors from the district's rural areas played important roles in the film, which the team said was significant for Chandrapur. Apart from Avinash Lengure, Samrat Kamble, Amit, Keshav Meshram and some other associates from Chandrapur were also involved in the film's outreach and publicity campaign and contributed to the effort.
On the occasion, the entire Jayanti-2 team appealed to everyone in society, especially the younger generation and students, to watch the film in large numbers. They also said people should openly discuss the issues raised in the film and reflect on those subjects.
