The way farmers in Chandrapur district buy fertiliser changes from October 22, 2026. The Agriculture Department is introducing the FFS system to make fertiliser purchases easier. Chandrapur has been included in the third phase of the system, and according to official information it will begin on October 22, 2026.

The Agriculture Department is running the system under AgriStack. Its full name is the Framework for Fertilizer Sale (FFS). The aim is to let farmers buy chemical fertiliser in an easy and transparent manner. Farmers will register for fertiliser in advance through a mobile app and then collect it from an authorised seller by showing a QR code.

For registration, a farmer must download the authorised FFS app from the Google Play Store and select the state. The farmer must then log in through Aadhaar authentication, or with the Farmer ID and an OTP. In the app, the farmer must enter details of their own or leased land, including district, taluka, village and survey number, along with the crop sown.

Based on the recommendation of the agricultural university or on fertiliser use, farmers will be able to choose the type of fertiliser needed and the number of bags. A single application can also record demand for more than one fertiliser. The farmer must then pick a seller after checking the stock available at the nearest registered agriculture service centre. The farmer must also record whether they or a representative will collect the fertiliser, and complete authentication.

Once registration is complete, the farmer will get a separate token and a QR code. The code will be valid for 72 hours, and the fertiliser must be bought within this period by showing it to the chosen seller. The seller will scan the code, hand over the fertiliser and provide a receipt for the transaction. If the validity lapses, the farmer will have to register again.

It has been stated that the system will bring more transparency to the availability, demand and sale of fertiliser. It will be possible to curb irregularities such as unnecessary stocking of fertiliser, artificial shortages, black-marketing and "linking", the forcing of farmers to buy other products along with fertiliser. Farmers will be able to choose fertiliser according to crop needs, queues in front of shops will shrink, and time and effort will be saved.

District Superintending Agriculture Officer Shankar Totawar and Agriculture Development Officer Virendra Rajput have appealed to the district's farmers to use the authorised FFS app, enter land and crop details accurately and take advantage of this digital facility to buy fertiliser.

Farmers who face any difficulty with registration, Farmer ID, the QR code or the purchase process have been asked to contact the taluka agriculture officer's office or the agriculture department of the panchayat samiti. The Agriculture Department gave this information.
