Chandrapur cultural programme marks Ganeshotsav with local performances
Local artists, students and officials staged songs and dances at a Ganeshotsav cultural event in Chandrapur organised by the state government and district administration.
A cultural programme was held with great fanfare at Priyadarshini Cultural Hall in Chandrapur to mark Ganeshotsav. The event was jointly organised by the state government's Cultural Affairs Department, the Directorate of Cultural Affairs and the Chandrapur district administration. Various artists from Chandrapur city and its surrounding areas performed, winning over the audience present at the hall.
The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by District Collector Vasumana Pant. Additional District Collector Dr Nitin Vyavahare, Sub-Divisional Officer Vishalkumar Meshram, Resident Deputy Collector Dagdu Kumbhar, Deputy Collector Shubham Dandekar, Deputy Collector Atul Jatale and Deputy Chief Executive Officer Meena Salunkhe were present at this opening segment.
After the lamp lighting, seven-year-old Krishna Gadewar opened the programme by singing a chant invoking Lord Ganesha. Devdatt Satpute then enthralled the audience with a rendition combining male and female voices. Student Hitanshi Bhalekar performed a dance, while Vijendra Tembhurde and fellow artists performed Kathak.
Kiran Geete of Vidyaniketan School and colleagues performed a group dance. Kiran Khobragade and colleagues also performed a group dance. Sunita Nagbhidkar of Lokmanya Tilak Girls Primary School also performed a dance at the event.
Chandrapur City Municipal Corporation engineers Ravindra Hazare and Suresh Bhalekar performed a song. Deputy Agriculture Officer Jyoti Karlekar performed a solo act. Students of Gopikabai Sangda Patil Ashram School in Rajura performed a group dance. Tushar Motghare of Mul Municipal Council, and Sangeeta Umre and Pranali Patil, Deputy Chief Officers of Ballarpur Municipal Council, also performed dances. Local artists, students and government officials and staff thus presented one performance after another, enthralling the audience.
The programme was compered by Sapna Pimpalkar. It was organised by officers and staff of the MGNREGA office, including Naib Tehsildar Geeta Uttarwar, Assistant Programme Officer Vikrant Joshi, Nisha Meshram and Vaishali Bawankar.
At the end of the programme, all the performing artists were felicitated with prizes and certificates by the dignitaries present.
