Chanakya Niti: 5 types of people you should stay away from
Chanakya Niti lists five behavioural warning signs that show a person cannot be trusted
Chanakya Niti has much to say about judging a person's character and choosing the right company. It holds that a person's behaviour and nature matter more than their words, so instead of trusting someone blindly, one should study their intentions and habits. Chanakya Niti names five types of people it advises against trusting.
According to Chanakya, a person who keeps changing their story or says something different each time cannot be trusted at all. Such people can betray you because they often resort to lies to hide the truth. If someone's account keeps shifting, it is better to be cautious.
Chanakya Niti says a true relationship can only be recognised in times of need or difficulty. If someone stays around only in good times but disappears the moment trouble arrives, it is a sure sign their intentions are not honest. Such people stay only for their own benefit and betray you the moment they get the chance.
Nothing is a bigger betrayal than someone who tells others your personal matters. According to Chanakya, anyone who cannot keep your personal matters to themselves can betray you at any turn in life. It is best to stay away from such people.
If someone keeps praising you constantly or speaks in an excessively sweet manner, Chanakya says they may go on to betray you. Some people appear good on the surface but harbour an intention to cause harm behind your back. One should therefore start paying attention to a person's behaviour and intent rather than their words.
According to Chanakya Niti, if someone feels jealousy or unease instead of happiness at your success, it is a negative sign. Such people undervalue your hard work and may also try to belittle you. Acharya Chanakya says one should stay alert to such people.
