Central Railway to run Nagpur-Mumbai weekend special and AC Puja special to Santragachi
Central Railway has announced two special trains for the festive rush: a Nagpur-Mumbai weekend special and a weekly AC Puja special from LTT to Santragachi.
Trains remain heavily crowded during the festive season, around Navratri, Diwali and Chhath Puja. With this in mind, Central Railway has announced two new special trains for passengers. One is a weekend special between Nagpur and Mumbai, the other a weekly AC Puja special from Mumbai (LTT) to Santragachi.
First, the Nagpur-Mumbai weekend special. For those travelling between Nagpur and Mumbai at the weekend, Central Railway has decided to run a weekly special train from Friday, October 2. The train will run for a total of two trips, numbered 02141 and 02142.
Train number 02141 will run from Mumbai CSMT to Nagpur. It will leave Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), Mumbai, at 00:25 on Friday, October 2 and Sunday, October 4, and reach Nagpur at 3:35 pm the same day.
On the return, train number 02142 will run from Nagpur to Mumbai CSMT. On the same dates, October 2 and 4, it will leave Nagpur at 16:50 and reach CSMT, Mumbai, at 09:20 the next morning.
En route, the train will stop at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri (for 02142 only), Nashik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusawal, Malkapur, Shegaon, Akola, Murtizapur, Badnera, Dhamangaon and Wardha. It will have 4 AC 3-tier, 11 sleeper, 5 general and 2 general-cum-guard's brake van coaches. Booking for these trains opened on Wednesday.
Now the second train. For Navratri and the festive season, Central Railway has decided to run a total of 580 trips of Puja special trains from Mumbai to cities such as Danapur and Santragachi. These include the Santragachi special that goes via Nagpur.
Train number 01107 is a weekly AC special from LTT to Santragachi. From October 6 to October 27, it will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), Mumbai, every Tuesday at 20:20 and reach Santragachi at 05:00 early on the third day.
On the return, train number 01108 will run from Santragachi to LTT. From October 8 to October 29, it will leave Santragachi every Thursday at 11:00 am and reach LTT at 11:30 pm the next day.
The train will stop at Thane, Kalyan, Igatpuri (for 01108 only), Nashik Road, Bhusawal, Malkapur, Akola, Badnera, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and Kharagpur. The coaches will be 1 AC first class, 3 AC 2-tier, 15 AC 3-tier, 1 pantry car and 2 generator vans.
