Central Railway will run mega blocks on the Main Line and Trans-Harbour route on Sunday, with some Thane-Vashi/Nerul locals cancelled and slow locals diverted to fast lines.

Mumbai commuters planning to travel by local train on Sunday should check the railway timetable before leaving home. Central Railway will take mega blocks on the Main Line and the Trans-Harbour route for various engineering and maintenance works.

The up and down slow lines between CSMT and Vidyavihar will be affected. Local services on the Trans-Harbour route between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will also be hit. In addition, a special traffic and power block will be taken at Dombivli and Ghatkopar stations for work on foot overbridges, so the movement of some trains will be changed.

On the Main Line, the block on the up and down slow lines between CSMT and Vidyavihar will run from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm. During this period, some slow locals will be run on the fast lines.

Down slow locals leaving CSMT between 10:48 am and 3:45 pm will run on the fast line between CSMT and Vidyavihar. They will stop at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion and Kurla. At Vidyavihar, these locals will return to the slow line.

Similarly, up slow locals leaving Ghatkopar between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm will run on the fast line between Vidyavihar and CSMT. They will be halted at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel and Byculla.

On the Trans-Harbour route, the block on the up and down lines between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will run from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. The timetable of locals on this route is likely to be disrupted.

Locals leaving Thane for Vashi, Nerul and Panvel between 10:35 am and 4:07 pm will be cancelled. Locals leaving Panvel, Nerul and Vashi for Thane between 10:25 am and 4:09 pm will also be cancelled.

Services on some routes will run normally during the mega block. CSMT-Goregaon and CSMT-Panvel Harbour line locals, as well as locals on the Nerul/Belapur-Uran Port route, will run according to the regular Sunday timetable.

A special traffic and power block will be taken at Dombivli and Ghatkopar stations for foot overbridge work from the night of October 31 to the morning of November 1. At Dombivli, girders will be placed for the new north foot overbridge, while at Ghatkopar the structure of the old north foot overbridge will be removed. The work will be done with the help of road cranes.

For these works, the block on the down and up through lines will run from 1:15 am to 2:30 am and on the suburban lines from 1:15 am to 3:45 am. Some local and mail-express trains may therefore see changes in their movement.

Passengers are advised to check Central Railway's official timetable before travelling and plan their journey keeping possible delays in mind.
