Car overturns on highway in Savner, contract worker killed, three hurt
A car flipped after hitting a group near Savner-Bhopal Road, killing a contract worker and injuring three others
A major accident occurred in the Savner police station area on Sunday, September 27, around 12 noon. A car suddenly went out of control and overturned near Nasir Dhaba on the Savner-Bhopal road. One person died in the accident, while three others were injured. All the injured were admitted to the government hospital in Savner for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Vijay Bindeshwar Singh (42), a resident of Milan Chowk, Chankapur, Khaparkheda.
According to initial information received by police, four people from Khaparkheda were riding two motorcycles to see a plot of land near Heti village. On the way, they had stopped by the highway near Nasir Dhaba. During this time, a car headed towards Bhopal hit Vijay Bindeshwar Singh hard.
After the collision, the car driver lost control of the vehicle. The car hit the highway divider and overturned. Vijay Singh was badly injured in the collision. On receiving information about the incident, people from the surrounding area and police reached the spot and immediately began rescue efforts. The injured were rushed to the government hospital in Savner, where doctors declared Vijay Bindeshwar Singh dead after examination.
On hearing about the accident, social worker Hitesh Bansod informed Highway Assistant Police Inspector Shrikant Koli. Following this, a team from the Hitjyoti Aadhar Foundation and the highway police reached the spot and helped get the injured to the hospital in time for treatment.
According to police, the car involved in the accident bears registration number MP 04 TA 8406. It was being driven by Krishnadev Bhujwa (26), a resident of Bhopal. Three people in the car were injured, including Vijay Sundarlal Daharwal (48) of Chankapur, Khaparkheda, and Sandhya Pradeep Vedhi (59) and Pradeep Vedhi (68) of Bhopal. All three were admitted to the government hospital in Savner for treatment.
The deceased, Vijay Bindeshwar Singh, worked as a contract worker through Ravi Energy Company at the Khaparkheda power station. He worked as a coal sample collector and lived at Milan Chowk, Chankapur, Khaparkheda.
Meanwhile, it has also emerged that the insurance on the car involved in the accident had lapsed, though this has not been officially confirmed yet. A clear picture will emerge only after police and the relevant department complete their investigation.
Savner police have registered a case in connection with the accident and are investigating the actual causes and other related aspects of the incident.
