The e-crop survey and registration drive for the 2026-27 kharif season has begun in Buldhana district. This year the survey is being conducted through a new mobile app, "Kendriya DCS MH". Collector Dr Praveenkumar Deore has appealed to all farmers in the district to get their crops registered in time, before November 10, through the assistant appointed in their village.

The crop survey and registration drive began on August 11 on the directions of the office of the Settlement Commissioner and Director of Land Records, Government of Maharashtra. To make the e-crop survey faster and more transparent, the administration has appointed a dedicated "crop survey assistant" for every village. In other words, each village has a designated person to help farmers with registration.

Figures on the work done so far have also been released. In all, 8,41,296 owner plots in the district are to be surveyed through the app. Crop registration on the 7/12 extract has been completed successfully through the assistants on 5,30,279 of these plots. Farmers have been told to get the remaining area registered on the e-crop survey app through the assistant appointed in their village.

The procedure has also been explained. Crops have to be recorded by visiting the field in person through the "Kendriya DCS MH" app, and the details uploaded. Recording 100 per cent of plots in the e-crop survey has been made mandatory. Standing crops in the kharif season, as well as land that is permanent fallow or current fallow, must also be recorded.

A warning has been issued about non-registration. If crops are not recorded through the e-crop survey in the 2026-27 kharif season, the "crop sown" column on the 7/12 extract will remain blank and cannot be filled in later. Farmers could then face difficulty in getting crop insurance, government subsidies and the benefits of many other schemes.

It has also been noted that in the event of unseasonal rain or other natural calamities, an accurate record of the crop on the 7/12 extract is essential to get crop insurance benefits. Dr Deore has therefore told farmers in Buldhana district to complete registration through their village assistant before November 10.
