boAt to expand beyond audio into projectors, grooming and charging products
The consumer electronics firm will focus on new categories and international markets under a plan it calls 'boAt 2.0', after its post-tax profit rose 38 per cent to Rs 84.5 crore.
boAt, the Indian consumer electronics company that has built a distinct identity in audio and wearables, is preparing for its next phase. The company has decided to focus more on new consumer tech categories and international markets, and will widen its range in segments such as projectors, personal grooming, charging solutions, and entertainment and lifestyle technology.
The company is calling this phase 'boAt 2.0'. Audio will remain the core foundation of the business, while new categories and global markets will be the main engine of future growth.
boAt Chief Executive Officer Gaurav Nayyar said, "Our focus is now shifting from turnaround to sustainable growth. With a strong balance sheet, discipline in operations and a robust core business, we are getting ready for 'boAt 2.0'." He added, "We will further strengthen our next position in the audio business. We will also place special emphasis on the growth of international markets and new consumer technology categories such as projectors, grooming and charging solutions. Our goal is to make boAt a big, long-lasting technology company of India."
On the numbers, the company further strengthened its balance sheet and earning capacity in financial year 2026. Its profit after tax rose 38 per cent to Rs 84.5 crore. The company is reported to be completely free of bank debt and to hold a cash reserve of about Rs 397 crore. Nayyar said the entire focus in FY2026 was on dealing with external challenges and further strengthening the foundation of boAt.
New categories are also beginning to contribute more. The segment profit of the company's other businesses, including charging solutions, cables and gaming, rose from about Rs 14 crore to Rs 46 crore in FY26. The wearables business has also shown a good turnaround. A year earlier the segment had posted a loss of about Rs 54 crore, while in FY2026 it recorded a profit of about Rs 7 crore. According to Nayyar, "Our leadership in audio is getting stronger. The wearables business has turned profitable, and the new categories are also creating better opportunities for revenue and profit."
boAt is also pushing to grow its business outside India. In FY2026 the company's international revenue rose from about Rs 20 crore to Rs 45 crore. Its share in the overall business is still small, but the company sees it as a good opportunity for future growth. The company's strategy is to use the brand recognition built in audio, its distribution network and its understanding of customer preferences across the other technology categories.
