BLS International Services Limited has appointed Toomas Hendrik Ilves, former president of Estonia, as its global strategic adviser. BLS International is a leading company providing AI-based technology and digital services to governments and citizens.

Former Australian prime minister Scott Morrison was also recently appointed as the company's global strategic adviser. With Ilves's appointment, BLS International's global advisory board has been further strengthened.

Ilves is a well-known politician and technology advocate. He served two terms as president of Estonia from 2006 to 2016. Before that, he had a long career in diplomacy, government, international institutions and technology policy. He is credited with making Estonia one of the world's most advanced digital societies, and is known as a champion of e-governance and digital development. His long experience in e-governance, cyber security and digital transformation aligns with BLS International's aim of making citizen services simpler, safer and more efficient.

BLS International has worked in visa, consular and citizen services for more than two decades. The company operates in more than 100 countries and serves 46 governments. Ilves has a deep understanding of digital transformation and e-governance, along with knowledge of India's Digital India journey, which will be useful for the company's next phase of growth.

Shikhar Aggarwal, co-managing director of BLS International, said: "We are at an important new milestone in our growth journey. Our clear goal is to expand our global presence and strengthen our relationships with governments and various partners further. We have built a capable team and a group of experienced advisers who bring valuable experience and different perspectives to the organisation. As we strengthen our identity as a trusted partner for governments and citizens around the world, we are happy to welcome His Excellency Toomas Hendrik Ilves as our global strategic adviser."

Toomas Hendrik Ilves said: "India's remarkable digital transformation and its emphasis on building technology-driven, citizen-centric public services has created a model that is drawing attention around the world. The progress India has made in building digital public infrastructure and delivering more efficient and simpler public services is worth learning from for the entire world." He further said: "BLS International represents this same progressive thinking and is ready to take its services to a larger global scale. I am happy to be associated with BLS and look forward to contributing to its ambitions for global expansion and to the development of secure, efficient and citizen-centric services around the world."

BLS International posted strong performance in financial year 2026. The company's consolidated revenue stood at 2,998 crore rupees, up 36.7 percent year-on-year, while net profit stood at 724 crore rupees, up 34.1 percent year-on-year. This performance reflects the strength of BLS International's global working model and technology-based service model. The company continues to expand and provide secure, transparent and citizen-centric services around the world.
