BJP has carried out a major reshuffle in its party organisation across the country, announcing new appointments of in-charges and co-in-charges for various states and union territories. The reshuffle, carried out under the leadership of party national president Nitin Nabin, has divided responsibilities for 28 states and eight union territories.

In the new list, four leaders from Maharashtra have been given key organisational responsibilities in other states. Party national general secretary Vinod Tawde has been made the in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Tawde has been given this responsibility keeping in mind the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections due in 2027, and he has already been active in organisational meetings in the state.

Rajya Sabha MP Medha Kulkarni has been made co-in-charge of Uttar Pradesh. Along with her, Jagdish Patel, Pradeep Sharma and Anant Ojha have also been appointed co-in-charges. Besides this, Vinay Sahasrabuddhe has been made the in-charge of Delhi BJP, while former Union minister of state from Maharashtra Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar has been made the in-charge of Goa. Anil Antony will be co-in-charge in Goa.

Responsibility for the post of Maharashtra BJP in-charge has been given to Rajya Sabha MP Baijayant Jay Panda. Amit Malviya, Sadanand Shet Tanavade and Kamaljeet Sehrawat have been appointed co-in-charges for Maharashtra.

In this reshuffle, Smriti Irani has been made the in-charge of both Haryana and Chhattisgarh. Harish Dwivedi has been given responsibility for Bihar and Karnataka, while Ram Madhav has been given charge of Tamil Nadu and Uttarakhand. Sunil Bansal has been made the in-charge of Telangana and West Bengal.

Tarun Chugh has been given charge of Gujarat, Shrikant Sharma of Himachal Pradesh, Satish Poonia of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab, and D. Purandeswari of Odisha.

Assembly elections are due in Uttar Pradesh in 2027, so organisational preparations are already under way there. Vinod Tawde has already held meetings in Lucknow, Gorakhpur and several other areas in September to review organisational preparedness. As a result, these new appointments are also being seen in connection with preparations for the upcoming state assembly elections.
