The Bharatiya Janata Party has named the new national executive of its youth wing, the BJYM, under party national president Nitin Nabin.
Nagpur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced the new national executive of its youth wing, the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM). It has 34 members, giving representation to young leaders from across the country. The team has been announced under the leadership of BJP national president Nitin Nabin.
Three leaders from Maharashtra have been included in the executive. They are Sayali Raghunath Kulkarni, Virendra Patil and Gurdit Singh Vohra. All three are part of the same team announced under Nitin Nabin.
The new team also includes the name of Maithili Thakur, the MLA from Alinagar in Bihar and a popular folk singer. Her appointment to the national executive after reaching the state Assembly is being seen as an important organisational responsibility.
After her appointment, Maithili Thakur thanked BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJYM national president Hemang Joshi in a social media post. She said she would discharge her responsibility with dedication, discipline and commitment.
State-wise, Uttar Pradesh has the highest representation, with five members taken into the new executive. Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan have been given two places each. The remaining 17 members have been chosen from other states and Union Territories.
The BJYM national executive plays an important role in taking the party's policies to young people, publicising Central government schemes, running the organisation's activities and widening the party's reach among youth across the country.
With three leaders from Maharashtra getting a place in it, they will get an opportunity to contribute to the BJP's youth organisation at the national level.
