Beed police raid seven spa centres at once, detain women and male customers

A major police operation has created a stir in Beed city. Police raided seven spa centres at the same time. The centres fall under the Beed city and Shivajinagar police station areas. Several women and male customers were detained in the raids, and the action is the talk of the city.

Police had received information from confidential sources that objectionable and obscene activities were suspected to be running under the cover of spa centres. Acting on this, a team led by Additional Superintendent of Police Sameer Shaikh, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Navneet Kanwat, carried out the special drive. Separate police teams reached the seven locations without warning and detained the suspected women and customers present there.

All the women and male customers taken into custody were immediately sent to Beed District Hospital for medical examination. What was actually going on in these spa centres will become clear only after the examination reports arrive and police complete their detailed questioning.

The raids on seven centres on the same day and at the same time have caused panic among those running illegal businesses. According to police, legal action against those concerned has begun and further investigation is on.

Meanwhile, another worrying report has come from Phule Pimpalgaon near Majalgaon town in Beed district. Three Class 10 students have gone missing from the hostel of Sindphana Public School, run by Nationalist Congress Party MLA Prakash Solanke. On Tuesday night, after dinner, the hostel superintendent took attendance and the three were not found in their room.

The hostel management immediately began a search of the entire campus and surrounding area, but the three could not be traced. The incident has caused considerable unease in education circles and across the area.
