Attack at Ahilyanagar old age home leaves two dead, six injured, one arrested
Two people were killed and six injured in an early morning attack at a old age home in Ahilyanagar's Vilad Ghat area; one accused has been arrested.

A shocking incident has been reported from Ahilyanagar. An attack took place early in the morning at the Matoshri old age home in the Vilad Ghat area, leaving two people dead and six others seriously injured. According to initial information, the incident occurred between around 5:30 am and 6 am.
Police do not yet have a clear answer on who attacked the elderly residents sleeping at the old age home, or why. As soon as news of the incident was received, senior officers and a team from the MIDC police station rushed to the spot and began an investigation.
A man named Raju Ghule has come to police attention in connection with the case. Police are investigating what role he played in the incident. One accused has been arrested in the case.
Those who suffered serious injuries include Dattatray Shankar Hadke, Mangaleshwar Baburao Hine, Santosh Birangal, Ganesh Ghodke, Bhimraj Phiske and Gorakshan Phunde. Information has also emerged about Sahebrao Bhawar and Balasaheb Ghadge. All the injured are being treated in hospital.
The Matoshri old age home is reported to be run by the Neta Subhash Tarun Mandal Trust. Police are still investigating the actual motive for the attack, the number of attackers and what kind of weapons were used.
The severity of the incident has grown following the deaths of two people and serious injuries to six others. Police have seized evidence from the spot and arrested the accused, but further investigation is awaited to establish exactly what happened at the old age home in Vilad Ghat, the reason behind the attack, and who else may have been involved.
