Anti-Narcotics Task Force runs drug awareness drive at Wardha bus stand
Wardha's Anti-Narcotics Task Force held an awareness campaign at the bus stand under the "Drugs Free Wardha" initiative on September 26.
The Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Wardha, held a large awareness campaign at the Wardha bus stand on September 26, 2026. The campaign aimed to build a drug-free society and was organised under the "Drugs Free Wardha" initiative.
A large number of school and college students, along with residents present at the Wardha bus stand, gathered for the event. They were given a detailed explanation of the dangers of drug use, and awareness was spread on the issue. Citizens present were also urged to immediately inform the police if they had any information about drugs or related illegal trade.
During the campaign, it was said that today's youth are the backbone of tomorrow's India, since the country has the largest youth population in the world, meaning India's future rests with this generation. However, this generation is increasingly falling into a danger that is visible yet many young people are unable to avoid, that of addiction. Some youths take to drugs to escape stress, depression or failure, without realising when this habit turns into one that ruins their life.
The campaign also made clear that drug use is not a source of happiness but the start of ruin. It damages both body and mind, leaving the body hollowed out from within. It can lead to serious illnesses such as cancer, liver damage, heart disease and mental imbalance. It was also stated that the effects of drug use extend beyond an individual's health to their family and society as a whole, and can push people towards crime.
The campaign was held under the guidance of Saurabh Kumar Agrawal, Superintendent of Police, Wardha; Sadashiv Wagmare, Additional Superintendent of Police, Wardha; and Vinod Chaudhary, Police Inspector, Local Crime Branch, Wardha.
