Ampere has launched the Magnus G Max with Intellipack, a new electric scooter built for families. The ex-showroom price is Rs 1,09,999. The company puts its range at 142 km. The scooter comes with more than 30 smart features, an LFP battery and connected technology.

When buying an electric scooter, range and price alone are not enough. Safety, comfort and how many years the battery will last also matter. Ampere has launched this scooter with these factors in mind. It could be a good option for families looking for a safe and convenient scooter for daily commutes.

The Magnus G Max gets the company's Intellipack technology package. It includes cruise control, hill-hold assist, turn-by-turn navigation, and Find My Scooter and Ping My Scooter functions. A 5-inch PMVA smart display shows speed, battery condition, range and riding mode. Features such as live GPS tracking, geofencing, remote diagnostics and charging status make it easier to keep track of the scooter. An alert is also sent if the scooter is stolen or towed.

For safety, it has fall and accident alerts along with emergency notification features. Even when another family member is riding the scooter, the necessary alerts can reach the people concerned. LED lighting is provided for clear visibility on night rides. The company claims a top speed of 65 km per hour. The scooter has been designed specially for everyday city commutes.

The scooter has a 3 kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery. This type of battery is known for durability and stability in heat. The company claims the battery can last up to 2,00,000 km. The battery carries a warranty of 5 years or 75,000 km. The certified IDC range of the scooter is 142 km, but the actual range can vary with road conditions, speed, load and riding style.

Comfort and utility have also been looked after. The seat is long and wide so that both rider and pillion are comfortable. The 33-litre under-seat storage can hold groceries and everyday items. Ground clearance of 165 mm may make it easier to ride on ordinary city roads. The on-road price may vary by city and dealer.

The scooter will be available in three colours: Matcha Green, Monsoon Blue and Cinnamon Copper. At an ex-showroom price of about Rs 1.10 lakh, the Ampere Magnus G Max, which offers connected features, large storage and a long warranty, is an electric scooter worth considering for a family's daily use.
