Alliance season two to premiere on Prime Video on January 14, 2027

The reality show 'Alliance', which proved popular in India, is returning. Prime Video announced today that the second season will premiere on January 14, 2027. The show will stream only on Prime Video.

The competition show is coming back sooner than expected. Viewers across the country used to discuss the show's strategies over dinner and guess what each move by the 'Allies' would be. The game grows more gripping when sharp-minded players try to outdo one another.

'Alliance' is a reality format created in the Netherlands, and it proved popular in India. John de Mol created the format, while Banijay Asia produced the show. The first season was hosted by Kunal Kemmu. It placed 16 celebrity 'Allies' in a mysterious headquarters controlled by 'The System'. There they faced physical and mental challenges, had to form their own alliances, and had to prove that only the sharpest and most intelligent person can win the game.

'Alliance' was Prime Video's first daily reality series in the world. New episodes were released every day at 12 noon. The first season offered mind games, shifting alliances, secret missions and thrilling contests, and viewers were hooked from day one. In the second season, the contest will become tougher still.

Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, said: "The response the first season received from viewers strengthened our belief that Indian audiences are ready for a smarter, more strategy-driven kind of reality entertainment. The show did not just win viewers, it built a community connected to every move, every alliance and every twist in the game." He added: "The love the first season received made us feel we should not make viewers wait a full year. So we are bringing the second season early. This time the challenges will be bigger, the strategies in the game more complex, the drama more colourful, and changes will be made to 'The System' that will pose tougher challenges to the 'Allies' than before."

Deepak Dhar, founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said: "'Alliance' is a format that asks a very simple question: who can keep their focus on the game while its rules keep changing? This clash between strategy and human behaviour is what made the first season so compelling. In the second season, we have tried to take this basic idea forward and challenge the 'Allies' in new ways. This time, not only the challenges but also the players' decisions and the relationships they build will be part of the game. We are happy to continue this journey with Prime Video. We are eager to take the game to a new level."

Mrunalini Jain, Group Chief Development Officer of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, said: "'Alliance' has a distinct energy. When a show finds a place in viewers' minds in so short a time, there is a challenge in bringing it back: keeping it fresh and giving viewers something new and unexpected. The second season gave us that opportunity. While retaining the core nature of the show, we have made many new changes to the game. We are also happy that Kunal Kemmu is returning to the show. In the first season, he brought a special flavour to the show with his distinctive personality and humorous style at the headquarters. We are eager to see him introduce viewers to an even more unexpected and thrilling game."

The second season will have more thrills and unexpected turns than the first. It will not be easy even to imagine what will happen this time.
