As a result, both locals and tourists are now asking for thick sweaters, jackets and other warm clothes instead of ordinary jackets, which has also meant good business for traders.
The weather department has advised tourists planning to visit Nainital in the coming days to stay updated on conditions there. Given the continuous rain and rising cold, it has advised tourists to carry a winter jacket along with a raincoat or rain jacket.
