The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday held a large signature campaign and a peaceful protest near the main entrance of the University of Mumbai's Kalina campus. The campaign was held under the slogan "Stop Anarchy - Save Democracy!". Its stated aim was to protect the country's democratic system, the values of the Indian Constitution and national unity.

The organisers made a serious allegation that certain tendencies in the country are deliberately trying to create anarchy, and that the possible external support they receive is deeply worrying. According to the organisers, anti-India forces are trying to spread instability in the country through various organisations.

Against this background, the ABVP said it was essential to spread awareness among people to uphold national interest, democratic values and the unity of the country.

During the campaign, it was stressed that democracy is not merely a system of governance. It was said to be the soul of the Constitution, which rests on the values of liberty, equality, justice and fraternity. It was said that all sections of society must come together and stay vigilant so that people's faith in democratic institutions is maintained, the rule of law functions properly and no violent or unlawful path finds space.

The ABVP said the signature campaign on Friday drew a wide response from students, young people and aware citizens. It was stated that a large number of people recorded their signatures in support of democracy. It was also stated that the message of defending democracy, respecting the Constitution and national unity was taken to people through the peaceful protest.

After the campaign, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad appealed to all students and young people in the country to always come forward to protect democratic values. The Parishad said they should put forward their views through constitutional means and remain committed to building a strong, peaceful and just society.
