Abhaysinh Jagtap condemns case against Man panchayat samiti chairman Vikram Shingade
NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) leader Abhaysinh Jagtap called the case against Vikram Shingade false and political, as hundreds of workers gathered outside Mhaswad police station.
Mhaswad: A case has been registered at Mhaswad police station against Vikram Shingade, chairman of the Man panchayat samiti. To protest it, hundreds of workers, including NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) general secretary Abhaysinh Jagtap and Zilla Parishad member Anil Desai, gathered in front of the police station today.
Jagtap said the ruling group, with the aim that political opponents must be wiped out from Man-Khatav, was playing politics of the lowest kind with the police as its tool. He said chairman Shingade had become a victim of this. He said the ruling side had filed the case by using a woman as a shield. "This is a false case, and that is why we have come before the police station to protest it," Jagtap said.
Jagtap further said the work Shingade is doing as chairman was irking the local people's representatives, and the case may have been filed against him to stop him. He also said the woman through whom the case was filed may herself be under political pressure. He said power and police force were being used in Man-Khatav, and that this was tarnishing the image of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
Jagtap said the incident had caused a strong wave of anger among the people of Man-Khatav. He expressed confidence that this wave would foil the ruling side's dirty politics. He also appealed to the police not to become puppets in the hands of the ruling side. He said ordinary people were tired of such filthy politics of terror and would themselves foil the rulers' devious designs.
Speaking on the occasion, Desai said police force was used even during the election of the Zilla Parishad president, and the post was snatched away. He said ordinary people knew fully well under whose pressure the police administration was working now.
Desai said Shingade, against whom the case has been filed, was spoken of in lowly terms in a social media group. He said police officers are also members of that group but stayed silent and looked on at the time. He asked on whose orders the police had now hurried to file a case against Shingade.
Desai also warned of a intense agitation if such false cases were filed in Man-Khatav in future.
