Women often do something or other to brighten the face, using different creams, expensive face packs and skin treatments to reduce darkness. The skin on the neck, elbows and knees, however, gets no attention at all.
If the skin on the neck, elbows and knees turns dark, the surrounding areas gradually begin to darken as well. It is therefore important not to ignore it and to act in time. As skin slowly darkens, grime starts to collect on the body. Once dead cells build up, tanning increases.
The built-up grime is often removed by scrubbing the skin hard. Instead, a body mask made from items in the kitchen is suggested. Home remedies, it is said, do no harm to the skin.
Body skin looks dark not only because of the sun but also because of accumulated grime. Tanning or pigmentation darkens the skin. Taking pills and medicines can also sometimes darken it. For this reason, home remedies are recommended over expensive skincare products for removing the grime. If the skin is cared for properly and naturally, it will become clean and look radiant.
Many ways of removing tan are shown on social media. Body washes or masks are made by mixing things such as lemon, Eno, coffee or shampoo. But using household items the wrong way can irritate the skin. Using Eno can increase redness of the skin. Women with sensitive skin should therefore take particular care and do a patch test before applying any ingredient or mask.
For a neck darkened by sun or tanning, the following recipe is given. Mix one spoon of milk, one spoon of turmeric and half a spoon of honey in a bowl. Apply it on the neck, knees and other darkened parts of the body and massage gently. The massage should help reduce the dead skin and grime that have collected. After 10 minutes, wash the skin with water.
A face pack alone is not enough to reduce tanning. Applying sunscreen when going out is just as essential, so that the skin is protected from tanning caused by the sun's rays.
