A 75-day traffic and power block will be taken on platforms 14 and 15 and stabling line 15 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) for its redevelopment. The block will run from October 1 to December 15, meaning platforms 14 and 15 will stay closed for the full 75 days.

Because of the block, eight mail-express trains headed for CSMT will terminate at Dadar or Thane station. During this period, foundation work and other essential work will be carried out on platforms 14 and 15 and stabling line 15. Rail traffic will remain shut on these platforms until the work is complete, after which they will be reopened for rail traffic.

Seven trains will terminate at Dadar station: 11002 Balharshah-CSMT Nandigram Express, 12810 Howrah-CSMT Express, 12112 Amravati-CSMT Express, 11020 Bhubaneswar-CSMT Konark Express, 22120 Madgaon-CSMT Tejas Express, 22144 Bidar-CSMT Express and 22108 Latur-CSMT Express.

The eighth train, 12134 Mangaluru-CSMT Express, will terminate at Thane station. Passengers on this train bound for CSMT will have to make their own arrangements for the journey beyond Thane.

In the first phase of the CSMT redevelopment, a block was taken earlier on platforms 16 and 17. A block is now being taken on platforms 14 and 15 for the next phase of work. Central Railway has said the work is necessary for developing basic facilities and for modernisation.

The railway administration has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the block and appealed to passengers to plan their travel accordingly.
