58 grams of MD seized in Yashodhara Nagar, history-sheeter arrested

Nagpur police's anti-narcotics squad carried out a major operation in the Yashodhara Nagar area and seized 58 grams of MD (mephedrone) drugs. A history-sheeter has been arrested in the alleged drug trafficking case, while six others have been declared absconding accused.

According to police, police constable Imran Shaikh had received confidential information about the alleged sale and transport of MD drugs in the area. Based on this tip-off, a police team carried out the operation on the night of September 24.

Acting on the confidential information, the police team reached the internal road in front of building number P/01 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in the Sangharsh Nagar area, where the suspect was traced near the same building. The suspect was searched in the presence of two panch witnesses to keep the search process transparent.

During the search, police claim to have seized around 58 grams of MD powder valued at approximately Rs 1.75 lakh. Two mobile phones and a Scorpio vehicle were also seized from the suspect's possession during the operation. Police estimated the total value of the seized items at over Rs 10 lakh.

The arrested accused has been identified as 40-year-old Ejazuddin Siddiqui, a resident of Hamidnagar. Police said 22 serious cases are registered against Siddiqui across various police stations under the Nagpur Police Commissionerate.

Six other people have been declared absconding accused in the case, identified as Aamir Mukeem Malik, Kareem Mukeem Malik, Shibu Malik, Kaif Malik, Sagir Mohammad Latif Ansari and Osama. Police said all six are currently at large.

A case has been registered at Yashodhara Nagar police station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police are searching for the absconding accused and investigating the source of the seized MD drugs and the suspected network behind its supply.
