A shocking incident has come to light in the Dindoshi area of Goregaon East, Mumbai. An 18-month-old boy was thrown down a duct on the sixth floor of a building. The child died on the spot.
The incident took place on the night of October 14, 2026, in the Shivshahi building. It happened on the sixth floor of a building of the Shivshahi project in the Nagari Niwara Parishad area of Goregaon East.
When police went through CCTV footage during the investigation, it showed a 10-year-old girl picking up the child and throwing him into the duct. The footage also shows the girl riding a bicycle in the building compound after throwing the child down.
Dindoshi police initially registered an accidental death report (ADR) in the case. Police then began an investigation on the basis of the CCTV footage and technical evidence. During the investigation, the 10-year-old girl and her mother were taken into custody and questioned.
The family of the dead child has alleged that the accused's family tried to destroy evidence. They have also suspected that the plot may have been hatched because of an old quarrel or to get them to vacate their home. Police are investigating these allegations as well.
