1,027 candidates apply for 84 contract health posts at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar civic body
Interviews for staff nurse, medical officer and multipurpose health worker posts drew large crowds to the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar research centre on Tuesday.
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation is filling vacant posts in its health department on contract. On Tuesday (September 29), crowds of candidates were seen through the day at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Centre and the surrounding area. In all, 1,027 applications have been received for 84 posts in three cadres: staff nurse, medical officer and multipurpose health worker.
The sun was strong, so many candidates waited for their interviews in the shade of the research centre's garden. Forgetting thirst and hunger, everyone waited for their turn. Applications had been invited for the posts of staff nurse, medical officer and multipurpose health worker. For 22 staff nurse posts, 390 applications were received.
These candidates were interviewed on Tuesday. The number of candidates was very large, so the interviews continued into the night. For the 34 medical officer posts, 234 candidates had applied, and their interviews have been completed. Candidates have come to the city for the recruitment from Beed, Hingoli, Parbhani and Latur, as well as from other parts of Marathwada and the state, besides Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
For the 28 multipurpose health worker posts, 403 applications have been received. The administration said interviews for these posts will be held today, Wednesday (September 30), between 11 am and 3 pm at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Centre.
Additional Commissioner Kalpita Pimple, Health Medical Officer Dr Ujjwala Bhamre, RPH Dr Megha Jogdand and specialists Dr Rathodkar and Dr Chaudhar were present to conduct Tuesday's interviews. With candidates arriving in large numbers, the research centre premises looked like a recruitment centre all day.
