Voting for the Pune Division Graduates and Teachers constituencies of the Legislative Council is under way in Pune city today, Friday, October 23. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among graduate and teacher voters, who are reaching polling stations to exercise their right to vote.

Voters are to choose a representative who will raise the issues of graduates, job opportunities, problems in the education sector and the pending issues of teachers in the Legislative Council. Voters' remarks show a hope that a single vote can bring the change they want. The whole state is watching the result of this election.

Pune is a major educational centre of the state, which is why the election is drawing special attention. Graduates, salaried employees and teachers working in different fields of the city are taking part in the voting. Unemployment, the difficulties of students preparing for competitive examinations, job opportunities for highly educated youth and teachers' service-related issues are the matters that weigh with voters.

Candidates of different political parties and independent candidates are in the fray. During the campaign, the candidates went to voters and put forward their positions. Voters are now giving their verdict through actual voting. Voters expect the representative who is elected not merely to make promises but to pursue the issues continuously until they are resolved.

Graduate voter Akshay Marne said, "Even after getting a degree, many young people have to struggle for jobs. We are voting to choose a representative who will raise the issue of unemployment effectively in the Legislative Council and work to create job opportunities for young people."

Speaking about the problems of students preparing for competitive examinations, one voter said, "Students preparing for competitive examinations face many difficulties. It is necessary to elect a representative who will understand their problems, take them to the government and pursue remedies. It is with this expectation that we are voting."

Graduate voter Tejraj Kakade said, "After completing their education, young people need to get jobs according to their qualifications. I voted with the aim of choosing the right representative, so that skill development, job creation and issues concerning the future of youth are given priority."

A teacher voter said, "The pending issues of teachers, service-related difficulties and problems in the education sector should get a proper platform in the Legislative Council. We are voting to choose a representative who will firmly present the teachers' side."

Graduate voter Abhijit Jagtap said, "The representative who is elected should stay in touch with voters and pursue their issues continuously. We are exercising our right to vote so that we get a people's representative who works to fulfil the expectations of graduates and teachers."
