A free mega health camp on the birth anniversary of the late Devanandbhau Kayande drew patients from villages and the town, with specialists from 21 departments.

A free mega health camp was held at the Samarth Educational Complex in Deulgaon Raja on Sunday, November 1, 2026. It was organised by the MLA Manojbhau Kayande Mitra Mandal on the birth anniversary of the late educationist Devanandbhau Kayande. People from both villages and the town took part in large numbers.

According to the organisers, about 8,773 patients were examined at the camp, and 173 donors gave blood voluntarily.

The aim of the event was described as carrying forward the late Devanandbhau Kayande's legacy of social, educational and service work. Through the initiative, MLA Manojbhau Kayande resolved to remember the late leader's ideas of social service through action, rather than merely paying tribute on the anniversary. The main purpose of the camp was to let ordinary and needy patients from villages get the services of specialist doctors from different fields in their own area.

The camp was inaugurated by Nandatai Devanand Kayande, president of the Zilla Parishad and of the Sant Gajanan Maharaj Agricultural and Educational Institution. Among the dignitaries present from various fields were Sindkhed Raja MLA Manojbhau Kayande, MLA Siddharth Kharat, former MLA Totaram Kayande, institution secretary Satishbhau Kayande, Nationalist Congress Party district president Advocate Nazer Kazi, former BJP district president Ganeshdada Mante, former mayors Devidas Thakre and Santosh Khandebharad, and mayor Madhuri Tushar Shimpne.

Doctors from Jalna, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Deulgaon Raja and Sindkhed Raja areas gave their services. Patients were provided medical advice, necessary tests, and free medicines and treatment.

The work done for people with disabilities stood out. Through the courtesy of the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust of Pune, artificial limbs were distributed free to the disabled, while hearing aids were given to patients with impaired hearing. The initiative was meant to help people with disabilities move about more easily in daily life, and many needy people benefited. Wheelchairs were also available at the venue.

Buldhana District General Hospital set up a separate blood donation pavilion at the venue. Young people took part enthusiastically, and 173 people donated blood in all. The initiative on the anniversary, meant to ensure that needy patients get blood on time, carried a message of social responsibility.

The organisers made special arrangements so that patients from villages and their relatives would not face difficulty. Vehicles were deployed to ferry people between the bus station and the camp venue. Free meals were provided for patients and visitors. Separate stalls were set up for registration, medicine distribution and the various medical services. Doctors and members of the chemists' association from Deulgaon Raja, Sindkhed Raja and Jalna also helped arrange facilities.

Gajanan Kakad, Dr Rajiv Doifode, Dr Umesh Munde, Dr Umesh Doifode, Dr Prafull Thate, Dr Vilas Darade, Dr Aniruddh Mante, Dr Atul Gite, Dr Pravin Tidke and Dr Sangle worked especially hard to make the camp a success. Along with them, all staff of the taluka health department, the staff of the district hospital in Buldhana, members of the doctors' associations of Deulgaon Raja, Sindkhed Raja and Jalna, and workers of the MLA Manojbhau Kayande Mitra Mandal planned and carried out their responsibilities.

The camp on the late Devanandbhau Kayande's birth anniversary thus conveyed the message of healthcare, help for the disabled and blood donation together. Thousands of patients benefited from the camp, and blood donors also took part in large numbers.
