Shinde Sena MLA Mahendra Thorve alleged that NCP state president Sunil Tatkare secretly phoned legislators after Ajit Pawar's death to become Deputy CM and take over the party.
Shinde Sena MLA Mahendra Thorve has alleged that after the death of Ajit Pawar, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Sunil Tatkare made secret phone calls to legislators. Thorve claimed Tatkare wanted to become Deputy Chief Minister, keep the finance portfolio with himself and take control of the NCP. Maharashtra is now watching how Tatkare responds.
Thorve called Tatkare a liar and a deceitful schemer. According to him, on the very day Ajitdada died, Tatkare phoned all the MLAs and tried to bring them over to his side. Thorve said that, as state president, Tatkare wanted to take the Deputy Chief Minister's post and the finance portfolio into his own hands, and also wanted to bring the party under his control.
Thorve claimed that although a mountain of grief had fallen on her, Sunetra Bhabhi remained extremely alert. She took the oath on the third day itself, and the matter was averted.
Thorve also called Tatkare a deceitful and cunning man. He said that after Ajitdada's death, Tatkare did not say a word about the betrayal of Dada and did not utter a sound. Now, Thorve said, Tatkare has made a U-turn and is raising a clamour that Ajitdada had told him everything. Thorve claimed Tatkare is lying.
Thorve said, "According to the information I have received, 13 meetings were held between Ajitdada and the Sharad Pawar faction on a merger." Ajit Pawar had held talks with Sharad Pawar and other senior leaders of the Pawar faction. According to Thorve, Ajitdada did not take Tatkare along to even one of these meetings as a trusted associate. Thorve said people should check the facts for themselves, and that Tatkare is now lying.
