Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has sent a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In it, he has demanded that the probe into the Rs 500 crore matter mentioned in the audio clip made public by Maratha agitator Manoj Jarange Patil be handed to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

A few days ago, Manoj Jarange Patil had released an audio clip that stirred Maharashtra politics. It is being claimed that the clip is a conversation from an online meeting of people from a BJP-linked "think tank". The clip mentions a strategy to break Jarange's agitation. It also says the BJP gave Rs 500 crore through Shrikant Shinde. As soon as the clip surfaced, it caused a stir in Maharashtra's political circles.

Raut wrote the letter to Shah after Jarange Patil's Rs 500 crore allegation. He says the entire matter falls under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and the probe should therefore be handed to the ED.

Raut shared a photograph of the letter on social media. In it, he told Shah that so far the BJP had been buying MPs, MLAs, political parties and elections, and has now begun buying agitations as well. According to Raut, the matter of Maharashtra's Rs 500 crore must have reached Shah by now.

Raut wrote in the letter that, as is being said, the BJP gave Rs 500 crore through Shrikant Shinde to be given to Manoj Jarange Patil. He asked where the money came from and whether it actually reached Jarange. Raut says the whole matter should be investigated.

Raut wrote that the matter falls under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). He requested that the probe be handed to the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

It remains to be seen whether Shah replies to Raut's letter. All eyes are on whether Shah will hand the probe into the Rs 500 crore audio clip matter to the ED, as Raut has demanded.
