Palghar man held in Gujarat for killing father with tile-cutting grinder after row over money for car
Police arrested a 25-year-old from Bharuch within hours of the killing of his 59-year-old father in Palghar East.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on the charge of killing his own father in Palghar, Maharashtra. The deceased is Mohanlal Parmar, 59. The accused is his son, Mukesh Parmar. Police arrested Mukesh from Gujarat.
The incident took place at around 5 pm on Sunday, October 18, in the Navali Ramnagar area of Palghar East. The Parmar family lived in a flat in the area. Mohanlal's wife had gone to Desuri at the time, so only the father and son were at home.
Mohanlal was originally from Desuri in Rajasthan's Pali district. He ran a utensils business in Mumbai's Dadar area.
It is alleged that in the evening Mukesh asked his father for money to buy a car, and the two fell into a quarrel over it. After the argument, Mukesh left the house and bought an electric tile-cutting grinder from a nearby hardware shop. Returning home, he allegedly slit his father's throat with the grinder. He then reportedly fled the spot.
Meanwhile, relatives phoned Mohanlal but could not reach him. When they could not make contact, they sent an acquaintance to the house to check on him. On reaching the house, the man found Mohanlal's body. Palghar police were then informed.
Police acted swiftly and within a few hours took the accused, Mukesh, into custody from Bharuch in Gujarat. Police are now taking further action in the case.
