No injuries have been reported in the incident so far. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Further information on the extent of the damage is awaited.
Local residents said the fire was in the area near Infinity Mall, close to Link Road. They appealed to the public to avoid P. Tandon Marg so that fire engines could reach the spot without delay.
The Andheri Lokhandwala Oshiwara Citizens Association put out a post on the social media platform X. In it, the association raised again the long-pending demand for a separate fire station at Chitrakoot Ground in the area. According to the association, this demand has remained unfulfilled since the time of the 1991 Development Plan.
