The India Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms across parts of Maharashtra on October 29 and 30, after Cyclone Arnav hit Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

Cyclone Arnav caused heavy destruction in the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Its worst impact was felt in southern and northern India, and rain has wreaked havoc in some states in these regions. An alert has now been issued for Maharashtra as well.

A warning of heavy rain with thunder has been issued for the state today and tomorrow, October 29 and 30. The weather in the state will change as a result. The weather department has said that Mumbai and some other districts will receive rain.

According to the India Meteorological Department, Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Pune, Nashik and some districts of Vidarbha will see thundershowers on October 29 and 30, and strong winds may blow. The unseasonal rain is said to bring relief to farmers.

According to the forecast of the IMD's Mumbai centre, many districts of the state will receive light to moderate rain over these two days, accompanied by thunder. Lightning is also likely. The department also said the weather could change in parts of Konkan, North Maharashtra and West Maharashtra today and tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Amravati city and the surrounding rural areas have been receiving light drizzle since last night, bringing people relief from the humidity. The rain in Amravati has come because Cyclone Arnav has formed in the Bay of Bengal. The weather department expects the rain to continue in Amravati for the next two to three days. The unseasonal rain is expected to benefit the rabi season wheat and gram crops.

An alert has also been issued for Uttar Pradesh in view of Cyclone Arnav. Heavy rain has been forecast there from the 28th to the 31st, a period of four days. Over these four days the state will see thundershowers and very strong winds. The administration has been directed to remain vigilant, and the government has also issued an advisory.
