Affected workers and villagers say the company's management acted arbitrarily, sacked three local youths and threatened women, and that police did not register their complaint.
Workers and villagers have made serious allegations of injustice against the management of Millions Steel Private Limited, which operates in the Murasa area of Bhadravati taluka. The affected workers and villagers called a press conference at the Vrindavan Sabhagruh in Bhadravati on November 6 to present their grievances.
They demanded an inquiry into the management's alleged arbitrary functioning, strict action against those responsible, and justice for those who have suffered injustice.
According to information provided by the villagers, the no-objection certificate given to the company was cancelled in the Gram Sabha at the monthly meeting of the Murasa Gram Panchayat on November 18, 2025. The villagers allege that the company's work continues regardless.
Three local youths from Murasa village who worked at the company were removed from their jobs without any prior notice. No solid reason was given for their removal. The villagers' main demand is therefore that these youths be taken back.
The press conference also heard a serious allegation that the company's project head, Rai, Naik of the HR department and security chief Yadav abused villagers, especially women. They are also alleged to have held women by the hand and threatened to beat them. Those who went to the Ghugus police station to lodge a complaint say the police did not register it.
The villagers also allege that, instead, cases were registered against them on the basis of false complaints filed by the company. It was said at the press conference that the police put pressure on citizens who go to the station to file complaints.
The demands made were that senior officials conduct an impartial inquiry into the whole matter, curb the management's arbitrary conduct, reinstate the removed youths and take legal action against those who threatened women and villagers. An appeal was made that the administration hear the company's side, and also the side of the workers and villagers who are suffering injustice, and secure justice for them.
Engineer Jagdish Lavadia, Jyoti Asmalliwar, Tejaswini Jhode, Rajkumar Parse, Akshay Dudure, Gaurav Thavri, Nandkishor Yerne, Rahul Parkhi and Jyoti Kamatwar were present at the press conference, along with other villagers.
