Vadnagar-Varanasi service pilgrimage reaches Amravati's Mozari, Ravindra Chavan attends
The BJYM's Vadnagar-Varanasi Seva Sankalp Yatra reached Mozari village in Amravati, where state BJP chief Ravindra Chavan led plantation and cleanliness worker felicitation programmes.
The Seva Sankalp Yatra, taken out from Vadnagar to Varanasi, reached Mozari village in Amravati district on Saturday. The yatra, organised by the BJP Yuva Morcha (BJYM), was welcomed at Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj's Gurukunj Ashram. The entire programme took place in the presence of BJP Maharashtra state president Ravindra Chavan.
On reaching Gurukunj Ashram, Ravindra Chavan visited the samadhi and gaadi of Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj. Office-bearers and workers who were part of the yatra were also welcomed on the occasion.
Several service programmes were held at Gurukunj Ashram to mark the yatra. The programme began with plantation of saplings. This was followed by felicitation of sanitation workers, while school supplies were distributed to students. Through these programmes, an attempt was made to demonstrate the message of service, social welfare and village development through direct action.
Speaking on the occasion, Ravindra Chavan referred to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj's ideas on village development. He said that the vision Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj had put forward through his writings and work, of village progress through people's participation, was the same vision now being taken forward by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chavan also appealed for continuous efforts to ensure that the benefits of public welfare schemes reach the last person in society.
The Seva Sankalp campaign, taken out from Vadnagar to Varanasi, has been linked to the aim of service, social programmes and direct engagement with people. The campaign has emphasised work such as service, cleanliness, plantation of saplings and social awareness.
A large number of BJP and BJYM office-bearers and workers were present at the programme in Mozari. These included state general secretary Dr Sanjay Kute, MP Dr Anil Bonde and BJYM president Krishnaraj Mahadik, along with office-bearers and workers from the Amravati division, who came to welcome the yatra.
The yatra's social message was carried forward through activities such as the service programme, plantation of saplings, felicitation of sanitation workers and distribution of school supplies to students.
