India, who beat Nepal by 10 wickets in their opening match, meet Pakistan in the group stage at the Al Amerat stadium in Oman on Sunday, Diwali day.
India made a strong start to the Under-19 Asia Cup 2026, beating Nepal comprehensively in their first match on Friday, November 6. Their next match is against arch-rivals Pakistan.
The two teams meet in the group stage on Sunday, November 8, at the Al Amerat Stadium in Oman. Diwali will be celebrated in India on the same day, so the atmosphere on the cricket field too could be explosive. If the Indian team wins, fans will get a big Diwali gift.
The match begins at 10:30 am Indian time. The captains of both teams will step out for the toss half an hour before the start. Fans who cannot go to the stadium can watch live coverage on the Sony Sports Network.
On the opening match against Nepal: Nepal batted first, but none of their batters could make a big score. The Indian bowlers performed superbly and bowled out the entire Nepal side for 128. The bowlers had set the course of the match early on.
In reply, the Indian batters reached the target in just 19.1 overs without losing a wicket, winning by 10 wickets. Aaryavir Sehwag, son of the former great Virender Sehwag, once again batted well, making an unbeaten 70 off 52 balls. Captain Lakshya Raichandani also played an unbeaten innings of 53. Their partnership gave Nepal no chance of a comeback.
India have thus made a strong start to the tournament. All eyes are now on Sunday's India-Pakistan group-stage match, which will be played on Diwali.
