A dispute between two constituents of the ruling Mahayuti in Ulhasnagar, the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) and the BJP, has reached the police station. After allegations were traded, complaints have been registered against office-bearers on both sides, and the city's political climate has heated up.

The first case is against Shiv Sena office-bearer Kamlesh Nikam and his supporters. Nikam is the husband of Mayor Ashwini Nikam. He is accused of making an objectionable statement about BJP state president Ravindra Chavan. The case also carries a charge of defaming Chavan.

A complaint has also been registered on the allegation of creating a ruckus outside the Ulhasnagar office of BJP office-bearer Deepa Punjabi. The names reported in it, along with Kamlesh Nikam, are Guddu Rai, Nilesh Bobde, Suresh Singh, Mohit Peshwani, Brij Bihari Shukla, Sundar Muralidhar, Santosh Rai, Aman Rai, Ganesh Shrivastava, Suraj Singh, Shubham Gosavi, Avinash Virare, Naresh Salve, Madis Stalin, Kamal Yadav, Vishal Hazare, Ganesh Hazare, Prafulla Jadhav and Karan Bhoir. The names of some other people have also been mentioned. Nikam's name is also learnt to figure in a complaint by BJP district president Rajesh Wadhwa Arya.

On the other side, Kamlesh Nikam has also filed a complaint against BJP office-bearers. On this complaint, a case has been registered at Ulhasnagar No. 1 police station against six BJP office-bearers, who are accused of threatening and abusing Nikam. The names reported in this case are Manish Hingoli, Kapil Adsul, Avinash Punjabi, Gaurav Bhalerao, Rakesh Pathak and Pradeep Ramchandani.

With office-bearers of two parties in the same ruling alliance approaching the police against each other, the friction between the BJP and the Shiv Sena in Ulhasnagar appears to be sharpening. Political circles are now watching what action the police take in their investigation of the complaints from both sides.
