Two office boys held in Nagpur for stealing 9 phones, watch worth Rs 4.26 lakh from sealed Flipkart parcels

Goods worth lakhs of rupees have gone missing from sealed Flipkart parcels in Nagpur's Panchpaoli area, and two employees of a transport company have been arrested. They are accused of stealing nine mobile phones and an expensive wristwatch. The total value of the stolen goods has been put at Rs 4.26 lakh. Panchpaoli police arrested both accused on the basis of CCTV footage and investigation.

The theft took place at the office of Elastic Run, also described as Entex Transportation Company, at Baba Buddhaji Nagar in Panchpaoli. Parcels arriving from Flipkart are sorted at this office and then delivered to customers, it is learnt.

The arrested men are Shoaib Afsar Hussain, 28, and Nazir Sheikh, 21. According to the police, both had been working as office boys at the company for about a month and a half.

On the night of October 24, company officials reportedly found an empty mobile phone box. The parcels were then checked and the footage from the CCTV cameras installed in the office was examined.

In the footage of October 13, Nazir Sheikh was allegedly seen taking a mobile phone out of a sealed parcel. Further verification then showed that nine mobile phones and a wristwatch were missing. The total value of all the stolen goods has been put at Rs 4.26 lakh.

The company's area manager, Ayush Kohli, filed the complaint, on which Panchpaoli police registered a case. Based on the investigation, police arrested Shoaib Afsar Hussain and Nazir Sheikh.

Police are now investigating the case further. They are looking into how to recover the stolen goods, as well as other points relating to the alleged role of each of the two accused.
