Trimbakeshwar temple suspends VIP darshan till October 12 amid Pitru Paksha rush
Shri Trimbakeshwar Devasthan Trust has closed all VIP darshan facilities from October 3 to 12, 2026, as devotees throng the Nashik temple.
Shri Trimbakeshwar Devasthan Trust has decided to suspend all VIP darshan facilities at the well-known Trimbakeshwar temple in Nashik district until October 12, 2026, as the Pitru Paksha crowd builds up.
According to the trust, the arrangement will remain closed from October 3 to October 12, 2026. During Pitru Paksha, devotees arrive in large numbers from across the country.
Crowds swell at Trimbakeshwar during the period for religious rituals and darshan. The trust has therefore decided to close VIP darshan for some time so that the general darshan arrangement runs smoothly.
Pitru Paksha is considered an important period in Hinduism. Devotees come to Trimbakeshwar to perform various rituals in memory of their ancestors. As a result, movement of devotees rises not only in the temple complex but also in many parts of the town.
With the crowd growing, the trust is preparing to let all devotees have darshan as easily as possible. Keeping VIP darshan closed is part of that preparation.
The trust has clarified that the main aim of closing VIP darshan is to give priority to the darshan arrangement for ordinary devotees. If VIP darshan continued during peak crowds, there is a risk of additional pressure on the darshan arrangement.
The trust said the decision was taken so that all devotees get an equal and smooth darshan experience and the crowd in the temple can be managed properly. The temple administration is making the necessary arrangements for devotees' convenience.
The Devasthan Trust has appealed to all devotees to keep in mind that VIP darshan will remain closed. It has also requested cooperation from the temple administration and the agencies concerned.
Devotees planning to visit the temple between October 3 and October 12 will need to remember this while planning their darshan. Those who expect VIP darshan in particular should follow the temple administration's instructions.
Trimbakeshwar is a highly important pilgrimage site from a religious point of view. The various rituals held here during Pitru Paksha swell the number of devotees considerably. The temple administration thus faces the challenge of handling the crowd and ensuring safe darshan for all devotees.
That is why the decision to keep VIP darshan closed until October 12 was taken. The trust has appealed to devotees not to crowd the temple, to follow the administration's instructions and to cooperate in keeping the darshan arrangement in order. Given the Pitru Paksha rush, it is hoped the decision will make the general darshan arrangement smoother.
