Six-year-old Nagpur chess player Advik Sukhdeve has FIDE rapid rating of 1,602, tops Vidarbha under-7s

Advik Jayant Sukhdeve, a six-year-old from Nagpur, has made a place for himself on the chess board. At an age when most children are only beginning to understand the world of sport, Advik's FIDE rapid rating has reached 1,602. The rating is in the rapid format.

Born in 2019, Advik is, with this rating, the highest-rated under-7 chess player in Nagpur and the whole of the Vidarbha region. No other player of his age in the city or in Vidarbha has a rating higher than his.

The same performance has taken him to third place in Maharashtra. His rank in the under-7 category nationally is 11th. As a result, he is now counted among the country's emerging young chess talents.

Given his age, the achievement looks all the more notable. Chess demands patience, quick calculation, carefully thought-out strategy and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Advik has shown these qualities with his growing command of the game. He has also been able to compete at a high level against players of his own age.

Behind this milestone lie regular practice, discipline and a clearly visible passion for chess. His progress does not appear to be only the result of natural ability. It also reflects a determination to get better with every game.

For Nagpur, Advik's success is another encouraging sign of the city's emerging sporting talent. Reaching the top of Vidarbha's under-7 rankings and securing good positions at the state and national levels have made his family and Nagpur's local chess community very proud.

At just six, Advik has made a strong entry on the chess board. After such a fine start, Nagpur has one more reason to look forward to its next generation of sporting champions.
