Gold and silver prices fell sharply on Thursday, October 22, 2026. Bullion prices came down in global markets, and the impact was felt in the Indian market too. Silver fell by more than 2 per cent, while gold slipped about 1 per cent. Those planning to buy gold or silver should check the latest prices.

Silver saw the biggest fall on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). During trade, it dropped more than 2 per cent to a low of Rs 2,03,580 per kg, a fall of more than Rs 5,500 from the previous level.

On the same exchange, gold also slipped about 1 per cent to a low of Rs 1,44,268 per 10 grams. Investors in both metals are watching every movement in the market closely.

Precious metals were under pressure in the international market as well. Spot gold was trading about 1 per cent lower at around $4,112 per ounce. Spot silver fell about 2.2 per cent to around $56.6 per ounce.

Rising crude oil prices are being seen as a major reason for the fall. US WTI crude rose about 1.4 per cent to above $98.5 per barrel, while Brent crude gained 1.7 per cent to around $111 per barrel. Costlier oil is raising concern worldwide over inflation and an energy crisis.

In city rates, 24-carat gold in Delhi is at Rs 1,46,220 per 10 grams, 22-carat gold at Rs 1,34,040 and 18-carat gold at Rs 1,09,700.

In Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, 24-carat gold was at Rs 1,46,070, 22-carat at Rs 1,33,890 and 18-carat at Rs 1,09,550 per 10 grams.

These city gold prices are based on available rate lists. The final price when buying jewellery may differ because of making charges and applicable taxes.
