Shweta Mahale accepts Sanjay Gaikwad's challenge, says 10 to 12 women have complained
BJP MLA Shweta Mahale says 10 to 12 women have complained about messages and that others are held back by pressure, and she will meet the DIG next week.
Shinde faction MLA Sanjay Gaikwad had challenged BJP MLA Shweta Mahale. He had said that if proof was given of messages being sent to Shiv Sainik women from her home, he would do what his nature required. Mahale has accepted the challenge.
Speaking to the media, Mahale said she had received complaints from 10 to 12 women. According to her, some more women also want to complain but are not coming forward because of pressure. She claimed these women are being told not to go anywhere and that those who sent the messages will be "made to understand". She said 10 to 12 women have complained despite this. She also said it was plain to see who was behaving in a despicable manner.
According to Mahale, the women say they have to live in society, so their names should not come out and confidentiality should be maintained. She said she has assured the women of this. She said the women were sent messages on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Next week she will meet the DIG and inform him of the matter. She said that once the whole matter is investigated, the vulgarity and despicable conduct will come out.
She was asked about the memorandum the Shiv Sena women's wing has submitted against her. Mahale claimed the women's wing submitted it under pressure from its leaders. According to her, the women spoke to her while submitting the memorandum and said it should not have been submitted against her. Mahale said the women told her their leaders had hurled abuses involving mothers and sisters, that the memorandum should have been against them, but that under pressure from the leaders they were having to submit it against her.
Gaikwad had earlier said that Chikhli had become like Ghaziabad. Responding, Mahale said it was for the people of Chikhli to say whether it had become like Ghaziabad. She said Chikhli is cultured and nobody here drinks and abuses people in the middle of the road. Mahale also said that in Buldhana, those who run illegal businesses join the morcha, and then they themselves say illegal businesses should be shut down.
